In this growing fast-paced electronic world, many people,
including myself, life revolves around e-mail, social media and TEXTING. At times, I feel I am running just to keep up
with the constant changes. Sometimes I
think we need to put away or shut down our electronic devices for a while, that occupy so
much of our time. We need human contact;
that is so important in the world today! On the other hand, the computer might be the only means for some people to communicate with the world around them.
In the past, I have observed some people unable to have a personal one-on-one
conversation with others. It appears they
feel very uncomfortable. However, if you
put a computer or cell phone in their hand, walla it’s as if you have turned on
a light switch. Their thumbs moving faster than light can travel, I might be exaggerating just a bit. :-)
Don’t get me wrong I
think computers and cell phones are great!
But, I think they have greatly hindered the need for interpersonal communication
skills with the younger generation.
I spend a lot of my time communicating with family and
friends through email and social media.
I wouldn’t have it any other way; I think of it as my lifeline… my fantastic
support team! I try to find a healthy
balance with all of it.
FYI- I'm here to stay baby! :-D
