My Poetry

Pictures       ~Kathleen Mollohan

Pictures capture a moment in time
They reveal our happiness and sadness
If you look hard enough it is possible to see the inner soul.
Many people will see a picture, just a picture,
Others will view it as so much more.

The places where the pictures reside
Says much about the importance
Of the individuals, they portray.

If it is placed in a spot, in the main focus of the room, for instance
There is no possible way for it to be overlooked.
No matter where you are in a room
It will draw the eyes attention.

If it is placed out of the direct line of view,
Others could perceive it
That individual is not important or significant.

So please use the utmost care.
Pictures reveal a hidden meaning.
Where will yours reside?

Another favorite poem

You Can’t Have The Rainbow Without Having The Rain

As you stand and look at the rainbow
And say it’s the prettiest thing you have ever seen,
You always want to remember,
You can’t have the rainbow, without having the rain.

In life you will have many hardships,
And many times suffer great pain,
It is then you need to remember,
You can’t have the rainbow, without having the rain.

When you are discouraged and lonely,
And feel that all is in vain,
Remember, you can’t have the rainbow,
Without having the rain.

God gave you the rainbow as a promise,
He would never destroy all again,
The God that gave you the rainbow,
Is with you during that the rain.

Yes, the God that gave you the rainbow,
Will be with you and during at the rain.

My New Set Of Wheels

I found this poem a long time ago, and it suits me perfectly.  I have no idea who the author is.

My New Set Of Wheels

There you stand, and I see you stare
Thinking, poor dear, she’s stuck in the that chair.
But I’m not sad, I’m very happy because
I haven’t forgotten the way it was.

You’d say, “How about a trip to the zoo?
A walk in the park will be good for you.”
I was thinking tomorrow, I’ll be it a wreck,
From my aching feet, to the pain in my neck.

Now I can go wherever I please
I can shop in the mall with a newfound ease,
Do all the things that have to be done,
And even go out and have some fun.

So, do you want to know how it really feels,
to be sitting here between these wheels?
Can you remember back that far,
When you got your very first car?

Well, that’s how these wheels feel to me.
They don’t hold me down,
They set me free.

So, don’t think all those pitiful things:
These aren’t wheels, I think there’re my wings.
